The Importance of Early Learning

Day Nurseries - MK Day NurseriesNational and international research has shown that the first five years of an individual's life shapes their personality, attitudes and their ability to learn.

That's why Milton Keynes Council set up the first MK Day Nursery in 1990.

Since then we have expanded across Milton Keynes and have developed our nursery provision to the very highest standard.

Our Aims

Day Nurseries - Nursery PaintingTo provide a safe, caring, fun and stimulating place for your child to grow and develop. Through play, and with help from experienced nursery staff, children develop language, grow physically and emotionally and by being with other children they develop socially. It is also important to us that children have fun!

Our Commitment

Day Nurseries - NurseryWe are committed to providing quality childcare and pre-school education. Play at our nurseries is fun, non-discriminatory, non-racist, non-sexist and non-aggressive.

Our Staff

Day Nurseries - Nursery Staff
Our staff in the nurseries are qualified and experienced, with a genuine interest in children.

Before your child arrives at nursery they will be matched with a member of staff who will take an extra special interest in your child's growth and well being.

That person will regularly meet with you to let you know how your child is progressing.

Birth to Three Framework and the Foundation Stage

Day Nurseries - Foundation Stage CurriculumOur programming of activities provides the Birth to Three Matters Framework (0-3 years) and the Foundation Stage Curriculum as set out by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES). The Birth to Three Matters Framework recognises that all children from birth have a need to develop and learn through interaction with people and exploration of the world around them.

The Foundation Stage is a crucial stage in terms of the children's all round development and of their wellbeing. It is a distinct stage, important in its own right and in preparing children for school.

It is designed for children from 3 years of age up to the end of their Reception Year in school.

All Milton Keynes Day Nurseries have been successfully inspected by OfSTED, which means that they can be paid the Government Nursery Education Grant for all 3 and 4 year olds. This grant can reduce the level of fees you have to pay.
