New Children's Trust Protocol agreed

Updated guidance on information sharing between services working with children and young people has been published by the Government in October 2008. Alongside the Guidance for practitioners and managers there is also a pocket guide summarising the main messages.

This guidence should be read with the new Children's Trust Information Sharing Protocol which was ratified and adopted by the Children's Trust Board in July 2008. The Protocol updates and replaces the previous Multi-agency Data and Information Sharing Protocol and is for everyone who works with children and young people in Milton Keynes.

The Children and Young People's Plan Review looks at how services for the city's younger residents have improved over the past year and what the council and its partners in the Children's Trust want to achieve in the coming year.

Tackling Bullying in Milton Keynes

Draft Strategy developed

An initial draft strategy for tackling bullying in Milton Keynes has been developed by the Tackling Bullying Steering Group which proposes 3 key areas as priorities for future activity. These are:
1. Information and effectiveness
2. Training and participation
3. Resources

Training on the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) and the Lead Professional role in practice is now available. A number of Managers Briefings are also being offerred.

Services for Children and Families - Six children The Families Information Service (FIS) is part of the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership

Milton Keynes FIS provides free, impartial 'tailor made' information and guidance on all types of childcare and childcare related issues including Working and Child Tax Credits, Family Support, Holiday Activities, Jobs in Childcare and Childcare Training
