The Primary Music Team are providing Curriculum support and training in primary schools in Milton Keynes as well as arranging Inset for NQTs, Music Co-ordinators and non-specialist teachers.
We are continuing to expand resources for teachers to use in the classroom with a new Indian pack being added to the other curriculum packs.
Work is also being undertaken in conjunction with the instrumental teachers, who are delivering Wider Opportunity lessons, in order to link this to the National Curriculum where possible.
The support given
The Milton Keynes Music Service is the Council-run service providing instrumental tuition to around 5,000 students in Milton Keynes' schools. Over 1000 of these students play and sing in Music Centre Ensemble groups on weekday evening and Saturday mornings. 
Milton Keynes Music Service provide tuition to students either through their own school or if that not possible then direct with the Music Centre, after school or on a Saturday morning. Many adults also learn through the Music Service. 
The organ is a fascinating instrument, and the experience of playing it can be very exciting.
